Neurosurgery Institute
Neurosurgeons at Mount Sinai are experts in using minimally invasive surgical techniques and technology to treat brain tumors, aneurysms, spinal fractures and other neurological conditions. Using state-of-the-art digital angiography that provides detailed 3D images of blood vessels, surgeons are able to insert instruments through tiny incisions in an invasive manner. They also perform microsurgeries that are coordinated using a microscope and brain or spinal cord electrodes to increase the likelihood of surgical success and avoid damage to healthy tissue. Minimally invasive brain and spine surgery leaves less visible scars, less post-operative pain, and requires a shorter recovery time than open surgery.
Neurosurgeons at Mount Sinai use state-of-the-art technology – Trilogy Stereotactic Radiosurgery system to treat brain tumors, meningioma and auditory neurinoma.
